...On Counting Votes
obama 4:47 AM
I'm a Florida Democratic Voter.
In the primaries, Obama pressed hard for my vote not to count at all, after his crushing loss in my state.
Then, he agreed to a half vote after the political pressure to do so became insurmountable and his delegate lead was unbeatable.
Later still, he agreed to 'graciously' allow us a full vote 'in the spirit of unity' at the Democratic Convention.
Now, with the help of his best friends for life ACORN, he's trying to get Democratic voices to count extra - 105% in Indiana, maybe higher still in other areas.
What's next? Double?!
First I was hurt, then appalled, then ashamed, now amused.

Indiana should be proud that they are able to register 105% of their legally eligible voters. Thats commitment... oh wait... or fraud?? No feat too large for the Obama camp!!!
"his best friends at ACORN"
Now you just sound like a right wing pundit. He helped them over ten years ago! If we're talking recent relationships with ACORN, John McCain spoke at a fundraiser hosted by ACORN just three years ago.
Hey Nick--
why don't you actually do your research before jumping on the ACORN bandwagon (which is the lagging caboose behind the failing Ayers train and the failed Wright train)?
Obama and Acorn are "best friends for life?"
Here is a list of Republicans who recently worked with ACORN. Enjoy!
John McCain attended an ACORN rally in March 2006.
FLORIDA Gov. Charlie Crist partnered with ACORN in March 2008 for a "Homeownership Promotes The Economy" taskforce.
In 2005, Republican governor Rick Perry of Texas, signed ACORN's Lending Law Reform Bill that changed the state's homelending practices.
In July 2008, Arnold Schwarzenegger signed a bill that ACORN helped draft aimed at California homeowners facing foreclosure.
In June 2007, Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty signed a similar bill -- drafted by ACORN -- that helped homeowners get fairer deals on their mortgages.
In February 2006, Mitt Romney signed an anti-predatory lending bill that ACORN supported.
In July 2005, Joe Lieberman met with the ACORN Katrina Survivors Association.
WOW-- ACORN has SO MANY best friends!
Maybe you can be one them, too, Nick!
ACORN isn't helping Lieberman or Crist or Pawlenty or any of the others steal a presidency. That's what I meant.
Also, none of the people you mentioned forked over $800,000 to ACORN to do their dirty work.
THAT is what I meant.
Also, saying I didn't do my research doesn't make it so. But thanks for the vote of confidence.
Yes, Obama hired one of ACORN's subsidiaries to help get out the vote. However, for you to honestly think that this was done with any sort of malicious intent by Obama is just wrong. The group hired people to help register and sign up voters. They, like many people in similar roles, (people who help get signatures on petitions, for example) often lie to get paid for names they never actually registered/collected. It's the fault of the greedy, poor employees that ACORN hired. Not the Obama campaign's.
Stop with this conspiracy nonsense.
"ACORN isn't helping Lieberman or Crist or Pawlenty or any of the others steal a presidency. That's what I meant."
So, ACORN are saints when they deal with politicians in your party?
Acorn isn't helping Obama "steal" a presidency, either. He's WINNING it on his own. Deal with it.
ACORN is not doing Obama's dirty work-- they were independently hired to get out the vote to low-income communities. Communities which trend democrat.
Yes, some ACORN employees may be acting unethical. Does it taint the whole enterprise? By that account, a few people yelling "kill him" at a McCain/Palin rally taints their whole support base?
McCain can cry all he wants about voter theft, but there is little to no evidence of people showing up at polls when they aren't supposed to.
Voter fraud does not translate into election wins.

ACORN is simply the latest grab from McCain's bag of desperate tricks. Instead of charging Obama with false accusations, he should stick to improving his own image and campaign.
Or is it too late for that, and this is all he has left?
Ahh when is the post on Colin Powell's endorsement coming?
ACORN doesn't grant people voting status. ACORN has people fill out voter registration and then hands the registration over to the Secretary of States office. The Secretary of State is then responsible for verifying eligibility.
Also, this "scandal" came about when ACORN reported their volunteers that were turning in forged registrations. Any registration ACORN receives they are legally obligated to turn in to the SoS, whether their is suspicion or not, and to report any issues they might suspect... both of which they did, ethically and legally.
