Tell the Senate: Vote NO

Join the Drawnlines Blog and Senator John McCain.

Together, we can tell the US Senate not to move forward with the Economic Stimulus Bill in its current form. Only together can we clearly and loudly stand with the minority to defeat wasteful and ineffective items from the package, and pass a clean bill.

Ask yourself
-

Is landscaping the National Mall a sound definition of economic stimulus?

Is abortion education funding?

Is more money for the NEA?

You may support these things - and many Americans do - but they belong in other bills. As President Obama has urged swift passage of this bill in both houses of Congress, and encouraged broad bipartisan support, it is urgent that political gifts to either party be kept out of the process.

Pet projects create debt, not jobs. This bill, above all bills, must be passed with consensus. America deserves to know that our government is with us, not on our backs.

On this issue, many voices agree. Nancy Pelosi said last week that for the stimulus bill to be effective, it must be "Timely, Targeted, and Temporary." She couldn't be more right. Please join with the Drawnlines Blog, Senator McCain, and millions of hardworking Americans of all stripes to let the Senate know - We don't think this bill is right, and we won't stand for it.
