In other news:

Just before the weekend, The Florida Democratic Party sent out an email urging Fla Dems to contribute to the party for the first time. The long moribund party has made great strides toward rebirth in the past few years, followed by leaps and bounds in fundraising and organizational coordination with the Obama campaign.

The fundraising email, titled "853" points to the 853 new contributors the party boasts in the second quarter in hopes to draw in enough new money to reach the 1,000 new contributor mark by the June 30 deadline. If they reach or exceed that goal, there is a very real chance that the Democratic party will tote the achievement as an example of a resurging party in the state.
