Kudos to the Republican Club of Greater Hollywood, Southwest Broward Republican Organization and Davie Cooper City Republican Club for collaborating to host the debate. The event went off without a hitch, and we got to hear from the candidates on a variety of topics they will have to tackle when they get to Washington. The format was noticeably smooth, and moderator Richard DeNapoli did an excellent job maintaining order among the candidates. The spirited crowd did a great job supporting and cheering on their favorite candidates, but a spirit of unity in the Republican cause was very obvious. It was a proud time to be a Republican.
Judging from the event, this election promises to be a real race. Republicans are lucky to have three strong candidates competing for the nomination to defeat Democrat Debbie Wasserman Schultz. They have all noticeably matured into confident campaigners through their experiences on the trail, and all three have their fingers on the pulse of the district. They clearly have fire in their bellies and conservative, American values in their hearts. Anyone who knows the candidates would be honored to consider them friends.
