The American economy spirals as DWS spins. That should be today's headline.
Just one day after DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz told CNN's Wolf Blitzer that the economy is "really starting to pick up pace" as a major reason President Obama will be re-elected, new economic indicators suggest that the president and his Democratic allies face doom. If Wasserman Schultz isn't sure what Mitt Romney's definition of failure is, she must not read the news.

This morning, the LA Times reports that the economy added only 54,000 jobs in May. This number is far short of the 190,000 new jobs predicted on average by economists. To make matters worse, unemployment ticked up to to 9.1 percent rather than ticking down slightly as predicted. On the heels of several poor economic indicators and a slumping stock market, Americans are hard pressed to wonder what planet DWS calls home.
