Only Ourselves to Blame

Could it be that the apparent and severe left tilt on the airwaves, in print, and online is really the fault of conservatives? While parousing a few different blogs, I came across an interesting post on Jon Henke's blog on Next Right.
Henke makes the point: "The whole thing is worth reading, but it boils down to this: The Right has been busy criticizing the media; the Left has gotten busy building it. The Left's new movement is making the news that the Right's old movement spends its time reacting to."
If there is any doubt that American media is tilted far enough left to be noticeable, or doubt that there is a plethora of outlets on the left that dilute the viewership, you need only take a look at ratings. Number 1 in News? Fox News. Glenn Beck stomps Blitzer and Matthews COMBINED. O'Reilly beats Olbermann and Campbell Brown together. Hannity trounces Larry King and Rachel Maddow hands down. Greta VanSusteren even trumps Anderson Cooper by a large margin. This keep in mind is total ratings, not a subset of some far-right nut jobs, so don't even try to spin it.
Bottom line: the viewers, the readers, the listeners are out there. Conservatives need go get them instead of complaining that somebody else showed up in their absence.

My only response to this is that if you look at the age ranges of the people who watch, your fellow Fox News viewers are wayyy outside the key demographic of 18-49. They're well into their 60s and 70s. That is the key Fox Demo. Paranoid old people and right wing-ers like yourself.
Hah, I'd also like to point out if you take the time to look at the Fox News demo breakdown, in addition to finding a SIGNIFICANTLY older audience as the previous commenter mentioned, you're also going to find that a on a percentage basis, far fewer of the Fox viewers are educated at the College level and above.
That's fair. My point was that it is factually inaccurate that only right-wing nut jobs are watching Fox News. You don't need a college degree to see a 2-to-1 viewership edge.
