Remembering the heat President Bush took over energy policy in 2008, many on the right have wondered, "where is the outrage" from leftist factions now that a Democrat sits in the White House? As gasoline prices peak around $4 per gallon, President Obama is less inclined to scoff at 2008 GOP mantra "drill baby, drill" than he was only recently. According to the NY Times, "The actions signal a return to a more industry-friendly approach to offshore operations that Mr. Obama had adopted early in his presidency..." The Washington Examiner says that Mr. Obama may even allow drilling off the Virginia coast, which was previously out of the question.
