Direction and Purpose

I decided to title my blog "Drawing My Line in the Sand" in part as an homage to a very important blog I wrote previously, and in part to recapture the sentiment that was the inspiration behind that blog. I remember vividly how resolute and determined, scared and motivated I was when I channeled my energy and emotion into that piece. Now I hope to take my sentiment and "Not ready to make nice" attitude and focus on moving forward.
So, where do we go from here?
Well, first and foremost let me say that this blog WILL NOT be exclusively about the Hillary Clinton campaign or my role in it. I will, however, do my best to give you a background and draw inspiration moving forward from that period in time. I will share my stories with you, and I hope you share yours with me. Together we will make this journey into the next phase, whatever and wherever that may be. Indeed, we are all part of a movement now. A movement that transcends one particular person, one state, one time, or indeed one vote. This is a movement larger and more powerful than any one of us, including myself.
In this blog, we will use both historical context and a look forward to tackle a myriad of political and sociopolitical issues that affect us all as Americans - red, blue and purple alike.
Over the next two weeks, I will be unveiling a retrospective series, taking us down the path we took to get here based on a select group of blog entries I chose to take us through the ups and downs that began this movement.
From there, we will move into the present and future with several features that I hope compel you to make this space a routine part of your life.
Here are some of the highlights of our new blog space:
Again, I deeply look forward to continuing this journey together with you. You and I will tackle a broad range of topics with open, frank discussion. I pledge to you on this day that together, we will 'go there'. We will venture into waters that others don't dare. We will surge forward both in unity and in disagreement, and that because of it, we will be stronger both individually and as a unit.
Thank you so much for joining me.
There is so much more to come.
